The Walt Disney Company was co-founded by renowned cartoonist and animator Walt Disney and his brother, Roy Oliver Disney, on October 16, 1923, as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio. As of 2018, Disney was a leading diversified international family entertainment and media enterprise with operations in more than 40 countries (See Exhibit I).
