Holidays: The management should not create an environment wherein employees are discouraged to take leave. It is clinically proved that taking a break from work for a few days recharges the body enabling employee to perform well on the job. It also provides necessary work-life balance in the employee's life. For example at Eli Lilly India, it is compulsory for employees to avail atleast 15 days leave in a year.

Family Friendly Policies: Many companies offer their employees various options to balance their work and life. For example India's leading financial services company - ICICI Bank offers flexible work options to its employees enabling them to work for a fixed number of hours, spread as per their convenience. Now-a-days companies are providing child care facilities at workplace for the convenience of working mothers. Further, companies have also started employing the services trained counselors to help employees overcome problems in their personal lives as well. World's leading search engine company - Google Inc provides on site counseling services to help its employees overcome their personal problems so that they can be more relaxed and productive at work.

Not only the employer, even the employee, can take some steps to bust stress and lead a healthy life at the individual level. It is important to understand that the employer can provide a supportive environment to help in de-stressing employees but it is up to employees to make the best out of such supportive environment. The following are some of the techniques that an individual can use to de-stress himself:

Meditation & Practicing Yoga:
It is clinically proved that by practicing meditation and yoga, an individual can unload stress. Meditation helps an individual to improve concentration. Further yoga also got calms both mental and physical systems of human body.

Focusing on a Hobby:
An individual would be able to de-stress himself by focusing on a hobby that he enjoys. For example, indulging in music, sports, art or any other hobby of one's choice would provide a breather and help the individual divert his attention. This would help in de-stressing him and also in looking at the problem at hand from a fresh perspective.

Leading a healthy life:
"A healthy body holds a healthy mind" .It has been proved that the life style of a person also has an impact on the secretion of enzymes that cause stress in our body. So, every individual should focus on developing a healthy lifestyle by striking a balance between work life and personal life. Regular exercise also helps the body to de-stress itself. Corporates are playing their role by providing gyms at the workplace and expert advice on diet control and nutrition to their employees.
