Mr. Sanjib Dutta

Sanjib has more than two decades of experience in both industry and academia. He has worked with global MNCs such as Satyam Computer Services, Tech Mahindra, and Virtusa Consulting Services. Sanjib’s areas of expertise include business case writing, teaching with cases, business consulting, business research, and sales enablement. Before rejoining ICFAI in December 2018, Sanjib was heading the Strategic Research Group at Virtusa Business Consulting.

Between 1999 and 2006, Sanjib was with the ICFAI Center for Management Research (a constituent of ICFAI Group) as a Senior Faculty Member. He taught Business Strategy to MBA students at IBS Hyderabad between 2003 and 2006 and authored/ co-authored more than 300 Case Studies. He featured in the list of Top 40 case study writers in the world for 2015-16 published by the UK-based The Case Centre. Sanjib was the winner of the 2019 EFMD Case Writing Competition in the Finance and Banking category; he won the John Molson MBA International Case Writing Competition and the CEEMAN Case Writing Competition in 2005; and was the Finalist in the “Dark Side” Case Writing Competition, 2005 and 2020, conducted by the Critical Management Studies division of the Academy of Management (AOM).

Sanjib was also on the judging panel for the Outstanding Compact Case Competition at The Case Centre Awards and Competitions 2021. He is a mentor to many business case writers across the country and is passionate about the case method of teaching and research. He is currently working as Associate Dean at the IBS Case Research Center, Hyderabad. Sanjib is an MA (Environmental Science) and MBA (International Marketing) and is pursuing his PhD in Business Management (Part time) from AIMA-AMU.
