Hyderabad, March 5, 2017: The ICFAI Business School (IBS) case "Breaking the Code of Silence", written by Ms. Syeda Maseeha Qumer, Dr. Debapratim Purkayastha, and Dr. Vijaya N. Zinnoury (University of Denver, USA), won the highly prestigious 'Outstanding Case Writer' award, organized by the UK-based The Case Center. The world’s largest and most diverse repository of management cases conducts the Case Centre Awards and Competition to celebrate worldwide excellence in case writing and teaching and are now considered the case method community’s annual ‘Oscars’. To win the 'Outstanding Case Writer' award, one has to beat off competition from the best case writers in the world, as the case can be about any management topic cutting across disciplines. “IBS’s winning case deals with the highly topical issue of sexual harassment in the workplace and allows instructors to bring critical issues to the classroom and also help find solutions. It provides an opportunity to discuss what to do and, more specifically, what to say when faced with sexual harassment. Broadly, it prepares students/trainees to speak up when confronted with ethical dilemmas,” said Dr. Purkayastha, who heads the world-class Case Research Center at IBS. IBS employs the case method of teaching and its Case Research Center has developed more than 6,000 cases. For the year 2017, a record eleven cases from IBS featured in the list of worldwide bestsellers. The winners of other categories of this year’s Case Centre awards include Harvard, Stanford, INSEAD, Kellogg, HEC Paris, etc. Useful Links: https://www.thecasecentre.org/educators/aboutus/news/releases/2018/mar5
