New Delhi, March 20, 2018: ICFAI Business School's Dr. Debapratim Purkayastha was recognized as one of India's top faculty members at the ‘Faculty Research Awards’ held on March 20 in New Delhi. Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar presented the Awards.

In the event, top researchers from multiple disciplines, ranging from Management to Engineering to Medicine, were awarded for their contributions in the field of academic research.  The ‘Faculty Research Awards' are constituted by Careers360 to recognise the efforts of India’s brightest minds in the field of academic research.  Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE was the Guest of Honor at the event.

Dr. Purkayastha was recognized for his contribution to the Management domain through his case research. Over the past decade, he has won more than three dozen international case method awards including the highly prestgious 'Outstanding Contribution to the Case Method' Award from the UK-based The Case Centre, and is also The Case Centre's No. 1 bestselling author for 2016 and 2017.

Regarding the current award, Dr. Purkayastha, said, “Being recognized as one of India's top faculty members, cutting across over 20 disciplines, is very special indeed! I thank the organizers and at the same time would like to say that I am indebted to ICFAI for giving me and our other faculty members a high degree of academic freedom to pursue our research interests and thus promote innovation."

Debapratim Purkayastha is the Associate Dean at ICFAI Business School Hyderabad (IFHE University) and heads the world-class Case Research Center. He teaches Business Strategy at IBS Hyderabad. He is the Consulting Editor of 'Case Folio – The IUP Journal of Management Case Studies', and an Editorial Board member for 'Case Research Journal' published by North American Case Research Association (NACRA).

Purkayastha is an internationally renowned case method expert. He has won numerous case method awards including the highly prestigious ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Case Method’ award from the UK-based The Case Centre.
