IBS Case Wins Dark Side Case Award

 

Hyderabad, August 6, 2017: The IBS case "A Sexual Harassment Complaint and the Fallout" has won the prestigious Dark Side Case Award at the Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting, Atlanta, Georgia, USA in August 2017.The case was written by Ms. Syeda Maseha Qumer and Prof. Debapratim Purkayastha of ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, along with Dr. Vijaya Narapareddy (University of Denver). This is the second time in the last three years that IBS has won this prestigious award. The other two finalist cases this year were from Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada.

In addition, Prof. Purkayastha was involved as Global Coordinator/Facilitator and Facilitator for the following two Professional Development Workshops (PDW) respectively at this year's AOM: 1) Engaging Students in the Digital Age Through Experiential Cases & Developing Publishable Cases; 2) Creating Rich Learning Outcomes: Multimedia Cases and Student Engagement.

The Critical Management Studies (CMS) Division is a forum within the Academy of Management for the expression of views critical of unethical management practices and the exploitative social order. CMS has been organizing the Dark Side Case Competition for the last 16 years.
