Abstract
Yahoo! Inc (Yahoo) is the largest Internet portal in the world, with 25 international sites in 13 languages and 238 million users. The portal carries news, financial information and streaming media entertainment. It also offers personalised web pages, email, chat rooms, message boards and Internet access. After losing its way in the early 2000s, Yahoo seems to be on its way back to profitability in early 2003. The company has made crucial acquisitions and partnerships to strengthen its competitive position. Yahoo's revenue model now looks more solid. But Yahoo realises that with rivals like MSN and Google around, it cannot rest easy. The case discusses the revival of Yahoo under the leadership of Terry Semel.
