The case discusses the emergence and expansion of the food supermarket chain, FoodWorld (FW) in India during the 1990s and early 2000s, and traces its growth over the years. The strategies devised to establish FW have been examined in detail. The case discusses in depth the issues of store location, store design and promotional initiatives that were given special attention while establishing FW outlets.
