Abstract

Nokia, the Finnish multinational, is renowned for its organisational culture. A flat, networked organisation along with flexibility and speedy decision-making form the main elements of Nokia’s culture. CEO, Jorma Ollila’s leadership has played an important role in shaping Nokia’s culture. Ollila has led Nokia’s reinvention as a mobile communications company. Under his leadership, Nokia has attempted to provide individuals with plenty of growth opportunities in a challenging environment. The “Nokia way” has laid down a few rules that every employee in the company is expected to follow. These core values form the basis for the common bond and shared philosophy of employees. The challenge for Nokia is to retain these core values as it grows in size.
