Abstract

The case ‘Nestlé’s R&D Accelerator Program: Driving the Future of Innovation in the Food Sector’ is about the R&D accelerator program of Nestlé S.A. (Nestlé). The case details the need for innovation in the food sector and Nestlé’s accelerator program. Rapid strides were required in breakthrough innovation in the food sector to meet the challenges and requirements of the future generations for sustainable and environment friendly food products. Nestlé with its R&D accelerator program had come up with innovative food products as well as sustainable packaging solutions that catered to the needs of the millennial generation. The working of the R&D accelerator is discussed in detail along with the various accelerator programs of Nestlé. It remains to be seen whether Nestlé will continue to bring forth innovative products from its accelerator programs and contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable planet.
