Abstract
In August 2004, Google, widely recognised as the 'world's best search engine', is getting ready for its long-awaited initial pubic offering (IPO). One of the most anticipated IPOs in tech history, Google is the 12th largest IPO ever in the US and also the largest Internet IPO ever. Google wants to use a Dutch auction to determine the price and the allocation of shares. As the IPO approaches, Google has also tried to put an end to its long-standing legal dispute with Yahoo involving a crucial piece of on-line advertising technology. It remains to be seen what price Google will finally get for its stock.
