Teaching through case studies is a widely recognized and highly effective pedagogical approach used by leading business schools, as well as corporate and government training institutions. By engaging participants with real-world business dilemmas and practical scenarios, the case method strengthens analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Case writing and case teaching are equally valuable for faculty members, case writers, research scholars, and independent researchers across management disciplines — as well as for professionals involved in corporate and government training.

IBS Case Research Center (IBS CRC) is dedicated to advancing teaching and learning through case-based methodologies. As part of this commitment, IBS CRC trains high-potential faculty, academicians, and case writers in the art and practice of case writing and case teaching. The objective is to cultivate a strong culture of case-based learning and knowledge creation within Indian management institutions.

Led by experienced faculty and case-method experts, the workshop focuses on the core principles of both case writing and case teaching. It begins by demonstrating the value of the case study method as a powerful tool for active learning. Participants gain practical insights into developing high-quality teaching cases, understanding the underlying theory, and applying best practices for impactful case writing. By the end of the workshop, participants build a solid foundation to create and teach their own cases, making it an excellent opportunity to enhance both instructional and writing capabilities. The program also includes hands-on guidance in effective case teaching techniques.

IBS CRC has successfully conducted workshops, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), and Management Development Programs (MDPs) for organizations across India. Institutions served include the National Academy of Defence Production, TAPMI, IIM Ranchi, VIT Vellore, Banasthali Vidyapith, National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Ni-MSME), State Bank of India, National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), PowerGrid Corporation, Indian Maritime University, and many others.
