Evaluation Process
All the entries will undergo a preliminary screening and the selected cases from each category will be sent to a panel of judges comprising experienced faculty and case writers from IBS and ecch.
The judging process would pay particular attention to:
- Ability of the case to trigger an enriching classroom discussion
- Style of writing
- Clarity and presentation of data
- Relevance of the data
- Quality of the teaching note

Selected cases will have an opportunity to get published at ecch
Entries to the EEMCS-IBS Best Emerging Market Case Award:
Submissions will be evaluated by an
international team of editors and reviewers through a double blind peer review process.
Cases will be evaluated along the following criteria:
1. Originality: Does the case pay original focus or significant reference to an interesting business problem within an emerging market situation, providing meaningful insight into the local context?
2. Depth of Research: Does the case offer sufficient depth of information and supporting data for readers to understand the industry, context of the problem/s and decision making outcomes to inform discussion?
3. Methodology: Is the case easy to follow and digest with logical progression? Does the case also offer appropriate qualitative and quantitative evidence in its support?
4. Quality of Communication: Does the case clearly express the business problem or context, measured against the technical language of the field and the expected knowledge level of the intended readership?
5. Teaching Note: Does the case offer well thought out teaching notes, which provide the instructor with a general understanding of the case content, teaching objectives, key issues and teaching approaches of the case?
6. Overview: Does the case provide a valuable instructional learning tool suitable for use by business faculty and students in emerging markets or for those interested in emerging markets? Can the case be used in support of teaching a business concept or theory?
All entrants to the award will receive feedback. The author/s of the best case will receive a 1000 US$ prize, providing they have also sent their intent to participate form and their case to the conference organisers at

Cases of publishable standard will be included in the
Emerald Emerging Markets Case collection, an international collection being used the top business schools around the world.
