Abstract

Jagadish Chandra Bose (Bose) was one of the pioneers in the field of Indian scientific research. He contributed enormously to the field of science. He was the first Indian to receive widespread appreciation and acknowledgement for his research work from the western countries. With the objective of encouraging and fostering research activities in the field of science, Bose established a research institute, Bose Institute. Since its establishment, Bose institute was endeavoring to provide an opportunity to the researchers to fulfill their dreams and aspirations and to contribute for the development of the society. The present case study focused on J C Bose’s background, education, career, research contributions and on the achievements of Bose Institute.
