Abstract

Genetic Engineering (GE) is a controversial issue, with environmentalists, scientists, public interest groups, and governments debating the safety and viability of GE. The case traces the growth and development of GE and attempts to analyze the benefits and drawbacks of GE and Genetically Modified (GM) crops and animals. It also discusses the general public opinion and government legislations on GM foods. The case ends with a brief discussion on recent develop-ments concerning GM crops.
