The case “Lijjat Papad: Balancing Lives and Livelihood of Workers during COVID-19 Pandemic” talks about the various initiatives taken by Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad (SMGULP), a women driven cooperative enterprise, to ensure continuity in operations during the COVID-19 pandemic while at the same time protecting the lives of its employees. The case starts with a brief history of the organization. It then describes SMGULP’s operations and how the organization empowered its women. The case ends with its future plans which include diversifying its product portfolio, increasing exports, introducing automation in its manufacturing processes, and having its own outlets.
