In May 2023, digital audience measurement company Comscore Media Metrix Multi-Platform announced that online marketplace app Temu that had been launched just five months earlier in the US, had attracted 70.7 million unique visitors. Temu connected Chinese vendors to the US customers, and shipped items directly from China. Comparing Temu with Chinese online fast fashion retailer Shein that had taken the global fast fashion world by storm, Comscore said Temu’s traffic was double that of Shein.
