In 2009, Joel founded a software company called OnePage that built a product which aggregated all the contact details of a person, including his/her homepage address, Skype details, and Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn profiles. This product was aimed at replacing physical business cards. However, finding there was no demand for the service, Joel wound up the company and began to work as a freelancer.
