Fitbit was founded on March 26, 2007, by James Park (Park) and Eric Friedman (Friedman) in Delaware, US. Park was a successful entrepreneur with a passion for creating rare products. He dropped out of the computer science course at Harvard College . Before starting Fitbit, Park was a director of product development at CNET Networks (CNET) , where he directed product management, engineering, and design for Webshots . Earlier, Park had co-founded Windup Labs, which was acquired by CNET in 2005.
