About Diesel USA
Diesel S.p.A. (formerly called Moltex), founded by Adriano Goldschmied (Goldschmied) and Renzo Rosso (Rosso) in 1978, was a privately-held retail clothing company headquartered in Breganze, Italy. At the age of fifteen, Rosso started stitching jeans, which he wore himself and also sold to his friends for 3500 lira a piece. In 1976, he started to design clothes in a small textile company called Moltex, which was owned by Goldschmied. After working for two years at Moltex, Rosso used a US$4,000 loan from his father to buy a 40% stake in the company. In 1978, the duo (Goldschmied and Rosso) renamed the company Diesel. Later in 1985, Rosso bought out the other partner for US$500,000 and became the sole owner of the company...
