Abstract Excerpts
Abstract
Cochin International Airport Ltd. (CIAL) is the first private venture in the history of civil aviation in India. CIAL was initially registered as a society under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act. However later on to mobilize funds, CIAL was incorporated as a public limited company in 1994 with an authorized capital of Rs.900 million. CIAL has generated an operating surplus right from the first year of its operations. Though the margin is still inadequate to cover the debt servicing, CIAL has finalized major growth plans. Will they succeed?
