Abstract:
The United States has been called the land of immigrants. In
fact, an overwhelming majority of the US population is made up of people who
either themselves are immigrants or are descendents of immigrants. The US
continues to attract immigrants from all parts of the world. Over the years,
with the number of immigrants growing, the US government introduced several acts
to regulate immigration. Post-9/11, the US government has tightened immigration
regulations. The case discusses the effects of immigration on the demography,
economy and society of the US. It also discusses the importance of immigration
policy for the US economy. It also attempts to analyze the advantages and
disadvantages of immigration for the US.
