About Nokia
Nokia started out as a paper mill. It was established in 1865 by mining engineer Fredrik Idestam in south-western Finland. Several acquisitions and mergers later, Nokia Corporation was formed in 1967. From the late 1970s, Nokia ventured into telephones and telephone networks. Nokia was the first company to bring out car phones, transportable phones, compact phones, and the hand-held mobile phone.
