Banco Pichincha Background

Banco Pichincha was founded in 1906 in Ecuador. Initially the bank dealt with stockbroking. In 1986, an agency was set up by the bank in Miami, Florida. In 1996, the bank entered into an alliance with Banco de Loja to provide banking services to its clients in South Ecuador. In 1997, the bank acquired Banco Financiero de Peru and in 2001, it took over NBK Bank in Peru.
