In April 2019, US-based Del Monte Foods (Del Monte) announced the various benefits it had derived from migrating existing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software to public cloud infrastructure, instead of switching over to an entirely new ERP system. It stated that it had cut its IT spending costs by 35% in less than four months, increased operating efficiencies, and reduced the time taken to roll out IT support to staff from weeks to less than an hour.
