On December 20, 2018, India-based online food delivery company Swiggy, raised US$1billion in the largest-ever funding round by an Indian food tech startup. Post that round, Swiggy’s valuation went up to US$3.3 billion.
Since its inception in August 2014, Swiggy had focused on creating a robust delivery model consisting of its own fleet of Delivery Executives (DEs).
