The Idea for Banyan
Engineers by profession, Vajipey and Rajkiran Madangopal (Madangopal) became friends at The University of Delaware, US, where Vajipey was pursuing a Ph.D. in electrical engineering (wireless communications) and Madangopal was doing a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (robotics). Later, Vajipey and Madangopal embarked on their respective corporate careers.
In 2013, Vajipey was employed with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and had over 10+ years of experience building and managing large cross-functional teams in the design, development, testing, and commercialization of mobile technologies. He had an MBA from UC Berkeley, but was also pursuing another MBA from Columbia Business School (CBS) .
