Abstract Case Intro 1 Excerpts

Introduction

In February 2022, US-based clothing company Levi Strauss & Co. (Levi’s) known globally for its Levi’s brand of denim jeans, announced the business results it had achieved within a year of the implementation of two proofs-of-concept (PoC) bots that it had deployed for the first time in February 2021.

Levi’s stated that through the bots, it had been able to bring down workforce inefficiencies and slash manual hours. It further emphasized that retail and consumer goods (CG) employees freed from burdensome and labor-intensive tasks, had been able to focus on analytics and judgment-based work.

Harmit Singh (Singh), Levi’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), said, “For a company to truly transform digitally, we must approach it from all angles: top-down and bottom-up, we’re ensuring teams across functions have the tools and services they need to work in a digital-first mind set. We are seeing not only an immediate reduction in operational costs but also increased employee satisfaction as teams can focus on higher-value activities.”
