Jain Irrigation was founded in the year 1987 in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra, India, by Bhavarlal. The story of the Jain family could be traced back to the year 1887, when Bhavarlal's forefathers moved from the deserts of Rajasthan to Wakod, at the foothills of the Ajanta caves in Maharashtra, in search of food and water. There they started farming and earning a livelihood. Later on the family entered into trading business.
Bhavarlal, a law graduate, joined the family business of trading in 1963. Foraying into the business of farm equipment, Bhavarlal took dealership of tractors, sprinkler systems, and PVC pipes. Later, he started dealing in fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides. Bhavarlal was highly successful in the business and under his leadership, the sales of the family firm increased from Rs. 1 million in 1963 to Rs. 110 million in 1978 ...
