In November 2010, Chinese companies, Kingsoft Security and Conew Image merged to form Kingsoft Internet Software (KIS). Kingsoft Security was the subsidiary of Chinese conglomerate Kingsoft Corporation that had a deep connection with leading Chinese Internet entrepreneur, Lei Jun (Jun). Jun had joined Kingsoft Corporation as an engineer in 1992 and quickly rose through the ranks to become the company’s CEO.
