Introduction
In May 2017, leading Chinese mobile Internet company Cheetah Mobile (Cheetah) announced that its one-year-old live streaming platform Live.me had raised US$ 60 million from various China-based investors, including Chinese news aggregator Bytedance Ltd. The investment was intended to increase marketing budgets and improve back-end technology. Cheetah said it would continue its international-focused strategy for Live.me.
Cheetah was formed in 2010 with the merger of two companies – Conew Image founded by software entrepreneur Sheng Fu (Fu) and Kingsoft Security.
