Introduction
On July 19, 2024, when American cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. (CrowdStrike) made a software update to its antivirus software Falcon , little did it think that the update would bring major industries and businesses worldwide to a standstill. The update caused a logic error, which led to the crashing of operating systems and cloud computing platforms of companies using CrowdStrike’s antivirus software. What followed was nothing less than catastrophic.
