Introduction
On December 2022, Anumula Babu Rao (Babu Rao), owner of Café Niloufer, based in Hyderabad in the Indian state of Telangana, came into limelight when he secured a bid for Manohari Gold Tea at Rs 1,15,000 (US$1400) per kg in an auction conducted by a private auction portal, Tea Inntech. Manohari Gold Tea was produced by the Manohari Tea Estate in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district, one of the high quality tea gardens.
