Brief Backgrounds of Marin, Jakobsdottir, and Solberg
Born on November 16, 1985, in Helsinki, Finland, Marin completed her schooling at the age of 19 from Pirkkala High School, Finland, in 2004. In 2006, she joined politics through the youth organization of the Social Democratic Party of Finland. In 2014, she was elected second deputy chairperson of the Social Democratic Party. In 2015, Marin became an MP in the Finnish Parliament. In 2019, she was re-elected and became the Minister of Transport and Communications. On December 10, 2019, Marin became the third woman PM of Finland at the age of 34. As the PM, Marin focused on climate change, gender equality, protecting the country’s healthcare, and reaching out to young people. Supporting the fight against climate change, Marin said, “It will also create jobs and opportunities for Finland. I don’t think that fighting climate change means higher costs and a worse future. I think it’s the opposite.”..
