Introduction
The COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020 affected millions of people in 213 countries and territories across the world. With no medicine or vaccine available, it was only the preventive measures taken by the people and, more importantly, the effective strategies developed by the political leadership to contain the spread of the virus and at the same time ensure livelihoods that helped some of the countries successfully fight the pandemic. Women leaders across the world played a key role in ensuring the safety and livelihood of the people in their respective countries. Women leaders like Sanna Mirella Marin (Marin) – Prime Minister (PM) of Finland, Katrin Jakobsdottir (Jakobsdottir) – PM of Iceland, and Erna Solberg (Solberg) – PM of Norway, demonstrated leadership qualities that helped Finland, Iceland, and Norway respectively, to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, record fewer number of cases compared to neighboring countries, and flatten the curve early (Refer to Exhibits I, II & III for Total COVID-19 cases in Finland, Iceland, and Norway respectively)..
