One Person, One Voice, One Share (OPOVOS)

Danone believed that improving employee engagement would help the company keep its promise to its consumers of improving sustainability even during difficult times. In 2018, the company launched OPOVOS that was part of the ‘One Planet One Health’ initiative launched in December 2017. Through OPOVOS, Danone aimed to empower employees to participate and share their views and to co-build a future for the company. Bertrand Austruy, Executive Vice President, Human Resources & General Secretary at Danone, said, “We believe that the One Person, One Voice, One Share program will create a very positive dynamic and foster an ownership mindset for all our employees, which is the best way to align everyone’s interests for the long-term”..

The Results

Danone implemented the One Person, One Voice program in two regions – the North America and Mexico regions – beginning in 2020. In the 2020 edition of the ‘One Voice’ survey, more than 86,000 employees participated. The company’s OPOVOS program delivered various positive results at both the local and global level..

Road Ahead

Being a multinational company, Danone believed that it was important to think ahead, to engage employees, to listen and gather feedback and opinions. The OPOVOS program gave each of its employees the opportunity to co-build the company’s future. The company invited all its employees to offer feedback using the OPOVOS online portal and share their views as employees, as consumers, and as citizens at the local and the global level..
