Evita Fernandez: Her Story
Evita was born into a family of doctors. Her parents Leslie and Lourdes Fernandez started Fernandez Hospital in 1948 with only two beds. Inspired by her parents, Evita decided to become a doctor at the age of eight since she was sure that she wanted to ‘look after pregnant women who bring babies into this world’. “That was the only subject I wanted to study even in college though for some reason I didn’t get my highest marks in obstetrics,” she stated.
