Introduction
In March 2018, Dr Evita Fernandez (Evita), renowned obstetrician and chairperson of the Hyderabad based Fernandez Foundation, a not-for-profit healthcare organization, and her colleague Inderjeet Kaur (Inderjeet), a consultant midwife at Barts Health at Royal Hospital in London, launched Naari, a quarterly magazine. The newsletter helped raise awareness on sensitive issues surrounding pregnancy and birthing. Evita also planned to reach policy makers and women activists through Naari.
