Paul Akers and the Founding of Fastcap

Akers was born in San Diego in 1960. Since his childhood, his father had encouraged him to pursue excellence in whatever he did. Akers earned the rank of Eagle Scout when he was 14. When he was 15, he attended a high school wood shop and built a guitar. Bob Taylor (Taylor) of Taylor Guitars was amazed at the perfection and precision of the guitar made by Akers and asked him to join Taylor Guitars. Bob mentored him after he graduated from high school. Taylor’s detailing and innovation considerably changed the guitar industry and left a significant impression on Akers, who was a part of Taylor’s team that made the first 2,000 guitars.
