Skills-First Mindset: A Path To Equity

In August 2020, the CEO, Edward Herman Bastian (Ed Bastian), sent out a memo that urged every member of the executive team at every level of the company to bring about equality. “Every Delta leader must take personal, vested ownership in solving for the burdens Black and Brown communities have been carrying for too long,” said Ed Bastian.

The company proposed six steps to become an anti-discrimination organization. The six steps were Rebuilding Delta as such to reflect the world; Reimagining its existing talent strategy; Addressing inequity; Creating more opportunities for underrepresented workers; Increasing inclusion training at every level of the organization; and Supporting its Black business partners.
