Introduction
Salesforce, Inc., a US based IT software and services provider, made it to the ‘Forbes list of ‘America’s Best Large Employers’ in 2024. The company, which had about 70,000 employees globally in January 2024, attributed the recognition to its employee initiatives, including its onboarding program. Salesforce had an employee count of just 9,500 in 2013 and intended to grow rapidly with a plan to increase the employee count by over four times over the five years that followed (2013-2018). As part of its HR strategy, Salesforce decided to put in place an onboarding program that could manage the large influx of new employees across its global operations and give them a good onboarding experience.
